The Jews have a secret. For years they have faced discrimination and oppression, yet for some strange
reason have been able to deal with the "bigots" better than many other groups. WHY? What is the
"Secret" of the Jews? Let's look for some clues:
Since the recent Jew-Arab war broke out in the Middle East MOST of the able-bodied
men in Israel have been in the armed forces. Usually when a nation sends most of its men to
war, its economy at home breaks down. Factories don't have workers, farms have no
one to take care of the animals, stores have no one to buy and sell in them. That is
what USUALLY happens! But, things were DIFFERENT in Israel.
No sooner were the first shots fired, and Israel's manpower tied up in the war,
than airplanes began leaving England, France, the United States and other countries
with VOLUNTEERS to help Israel! No these volunteers were NOT armed soldiers. They
were men and women who were going to operate the factories, work the farms,
open the stores, drive the trucks, dig the ditches and scrub the hospital floors
while the men of Israel were on the battlefront. Who were these "volunteers"? They were
students who took off from colleges and workers who left "good jobs," -- Jews who felt
OBLIGATED to HELP their own people.
At the same time that the "volunteers" were hurrying to Israel, thousands, if not
millions, of other Jews were digging deep into their pockets and bank accounts.
Many even went into DEBT in order to send MILLIONS of dollars to their "Israel
Emergency FUND." New York City's Jews alone raised TWENTY MILLION dollars in less than a
week. Many gave ALL they had!
In every area with more than a few Jews there is some sort of COMMUNITY agency or
organization financed and run ENTIRELY by Jews and working to help and UPLIFT Jews. In
the larger cities there are usually SEVERAL Jewish organizations. These organizations usually
COOPERATE with each other in programs and fund-raising (Note the UNITED Jewish Appeal
and the FEDERATION of Jewish Agencies here in Philadelphia.)
History shows that the Jews have not had an easy time. Yet, there is no record of Jews standing
on a soapbox (or radio or TV) SCREAMING "Jew Power"! There are few, if any,
cases of Jews (as a group) BEGGING for things that they could either buy or build.
Several years ago (during the late 1940's) a special commission of the United Nations
made a report on the efforts of the Jews to re-establish a homeland in Palestine. This United Nations
report took notice of the "sacrifice and cooperation" that Jews throughout the world
had shown in helping their own people.
Whichever side (if any) is right or wrong in the present Jew-Arab conflict does
NOT change the FACT that the Jews have been OUTSTANDING in the SACRIFICE and
COOPERATION that they have shown for their OWN people. THAT is the "secret" of the Jews!
They may not always agree, BUT, they have been willing to submerge their INDIVIDUAL differences
and cooperate on matters that benefited the GROUP. They may not all have money in the
bank, but those who don't have been willing to WORK to help their group.
You do not often read of Jews betraying their own people in order to keep (or
get) a job or some other "crumb" from their enemies. Most Jews are LOYAL to their
own people. Most of them DO things to help their own group. SACRIFICE and
COOPERATION is the "secret" of the JEWS. Now that YOU know it,
what are YOU going to do for YOUR people?
